Dear Eighth Grade Parents and Students,

CONGRATULATIONS! To all our Eighth Grade Students on the wonderful work you did for the Science Fair, last Tuesday.  I was impressed by the high standards and the great presentations.  Well done, Eighth Graders!  I am so proud of you!  THANK YOU, to Ms. Lida, too! You did a great job! 🙂

Tomorrow, I hope that you will enjoy your day off school in honor of Martin Luther King Jr.  He was a remarkable man who did much for Civil Rights and Liberties, in this great country of the United States.

Last week, my Eighth Graders continued to read, The Odyssey, we are reading the third part of it. They continued to work on their Career Projects.  They worked in their grammar and punctuation workbooks.  In addition to this, they commenced watching The Odyssey for Literature on DVD, which will bring the book to life.  They also reviewed for the Final in English  They were given the Study Guide on Monday, January 13.

This week there will be no time for academics because of the Final Examinations, which will be given from Tuesday through Thursday.

Last week in history, my Eighth Graders finished reading the Twenty-Seven Amendments to The Constitution, and commenced writing them up in their own words.  They also reviewed for the Final Examination in History.  They were given the Study Guide, on Tuesday, January 14.
