Happy Mothers’ Day!

Dear Eighth Grade Parents and Students,

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!  “Of all the special joys in life, the big ones and the small, a Mother’s love and tenderness is the greatest of them all.” I wish all our ECDS mothers much love, happiness, smiles, laughter, and surprises on your very special day.

CONGRATULATIONS to Anna, our STUDENT of the YEAR!  You have worked extremely hard this past school year.  Well done! ❤

Last week in literature, my Eighth Graders continued reading Lord of the Flies.  They started an A.P. study of Literary Devices.  They finished their Persuasive Speeches.  They worked on finishing a poetry assignment and other writing assignments.

This week in literature, my Eighth Graders will continue to read Lord of the Flies by William Golding.  In addition to this, I will commence reading Romeo and Juliet. They will study notes regarding Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury.  They will continue their study of A.P. Literary Devices.  They will finish their grammar workbook (three students have already finished).  They will work in their punctuation workbook.  They will commence watching Macbeth by William Shakespeare.

Last week in history, my Eighth Graders reviewed for the History Test of Chapter 7.  Then, they finished reading Chapter 8 and took notes.  They watched a history documentary about the framing and writing of The Constitution.  They commenced watching the historical reenactment of The Crossing.

This week in history, my Eighth Graders will take a History Test of Chapter 7, on Monday.  They commence reading Chapter 9 of the history book.  In addition to this, they will continue watching The Crossing.

Important Reminder:

  • The Talent Show, Part 2, will take place on Monday, May 13, from 2:30p.m. to 3:15p.m. in the Amphitheater.  All are welcome to attend.
