Last Week of March!

Dear Sixth Grade Parents and Students,

CONGRATULATIONS and THANK YOU to all of our Sixth Graders who ran in the Jog-A-Thon, on Friday!  I greatly appreciate your enthusiasm and participation. ❤  THANK YOU to all our E.C.D.S. Parents and Relatives who sponsored your children to run in the Jog-A-Thon.  We are very grateful for your generous donations.  A special THANK YOU to Anne Morasco and our Parent Volunteers, who organized this important event.  Well done! ❤

Last week in literature, my Sixth Graders continued reading The Tempest by William Shakespeare. They have read up to Act V.  They finished writing their Persuasive Essays.  They commenced writing a narrative poem based on one of the characters in The Tempest.  They worked on their grammar and punctuation workbooks.  In addition to this, they watched the next installment of Jason and the Argonauts, on Friday.

This week in literature, my Sixth Graders will finish reading The Tempest by William Shakespeare.  They will also finish writing their poems, based on the characters in The Tempest.  They will learn how to write an expository essay, in preparation for their next writing assignment.  They will review the rules of punctuation and work in their grammar workbooks.  They will watch the next installment of Jason and the Argonauts, which they are enjoying.

The homework for this week is as follows:

  • Study spelling/vocabulary of Lesson 16 in Wordly Wise for Thursday, March 28.
  • Complete all the exercises in Lesson 16 of Wordly Wise for Thursday.
  • Complete the CROSSWORD at the end of Lesson 16 in Wordly Wise.
  • Rewrites of the Stage Plays are now past due.  Please submit this week.

It’s not what you look at that matters, it’s what you see.

~ Henry David Thoreau

Enjoy your weekend and have a grand week ahead.

Fondly,

Miss Susan 🙂
