Parent/Teacher Conferences!

Dear Seventh Grade Parents and Students,

CONGRATULATIONS to our wonderful Sixth, Seventh, and Eighth Graders who were chosen for Student of the Month, at our assembly, on Friday.  Well done!  You are all outstanding students, and I am very proud of you and your work!  🙂

BRAVO! BRAVO! To my EXCELLENT Seventh Graders who gave a superb performance about “Optimism,” at our assembly, on Friday.  Kudos also go out to Ms. Regan and Ms. Deb’bora for your innovative and inspiring ideas. 🙂

This past week, my Seventh Graders continued with their reading of Inside the Walls of Troy by Clemence McLaren.  They  wrote several A.X.I.S. analyses, regarding Beowulf.  In addition to this, they learned the format for a “Two-Chunk-Paragraph.”  They also worked on the grammar and punctuation/editing workbooks.  They watched the next installment of Silas Marner by George Eliot, on DVD.

This week in literature, my Seventh Graders will continue to read Inside the Walls of Troy by Clemence McLaren.   They will continue to learn about “Two-Chunk-Paragraphs.”  They will return to their Poetry Unit.  They will work in their grammar and punctuation workbooks.  In addition to this, they will review for their Literary Devices Test.  They will start watching To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee, on Wednesday, for Literature on DVD.

Last week in History Class, my Seventh Graders continued work on their collaborative projects, to write an historical play based on Chapters 1 and 2.  They finished reading Sections 3 of their history books, and took notes. They also completed three charts from the text.

This week in History Class, my Seventh Grades will commence reading Chapter 4, which focuses on, “China in the Middle Ages.”  Then, they will review for the next History Test.  They will also watch short history documentaries to reinforce their knowledge of the history in Chapter 3, as we did not have time for this last week.  They will act out they historical plays, which should be fun! 🙂
