Spring Is In The Air!

Dear Sixth Grade Parents and Students,

Our Sixth Graders have completed their SAT – 10 Tests, and found them “easy.”  This week, there will be make-up tests, for those who were either sick or absent, during the tests.

This coming week in literature, my Sixth Graders will continue to read War Horse by Michael Morpurgo.  They will also continue to practice how to apply the A.X.I.S. Method, for “Response to Literature.” A=Assertion, X=Example, I=Inference, and S=Significance, with respect to Tunes For Bears To Dance To by Robert Cormier.  They will work on their next writing assignment.  They will also work on their grammar and punctuation workbooks.  In addition to this, my Sixth Graders will commence watching The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett, for literature on DVD.

The homework for this week is as follows:

  • Study for the spelling/vocabulary test of Lesson 12 of Wordly Wise, for Tuesday and Wednesday, April 17 and April 18, with respect to Sixth Grade, Group 1 and 2.
  • Complete all the exercises in Lesson 12 of Wordly Wise.
  • Complete the CROSSWORD at the end of Lesson 12.  This is worth five extra points.
  • Some students need to turn in their Children’s Books.

Knowledge comes, but wisdom lingers. ~ Alfred Lord Tennyson

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and have a grand week ahead.

Sincerely,

Miss Susan 🙂
