Parent /Teacher Conferences!

Dear Eighth Grade Parents and Students,

In an attempt to shorten the length of my blog, I will not repeat what I have already written regarding this past week’s work.

CONGRATULATIONS and THANK YOU to all our Middle School students who ran in the Jog-a-Thon, on Friday!  We greatly appreciate your enthusiasm and participation. 🙂

THANK YOU to all our E.C.D.S. parents who sponsored your children/teenagers to run in the Jog-a-Thon.  We are very grateful for your generous donations. 🙂

This coming week in literature, my Eighth Graders will continue to read The Odyssey.  They will follow Telemachus as he finally meets his father, Odysseus.  They will continue to watch chapters of the video The Odyssey, as we read ahead in class.  They will commence writing The Constitution, in their own words. This assignment will done both in class and at home. They will review the last page of the Literary Terms packet, in preparation for a test after the Spring Break.  In addition to this, they will work in their grammar and punctuation workbooks.

The homework for this week is as follows:

  • Study for the spelling/vocabulary test of Lesson 12 in Wordly Wise, on Monday, March 12.
  • Complete all the exercises in Lesson 12 of Wordly Wise.
  • Complete the CROSSWORD at the end of Lesson 12.
  • Three interviews for the Career Project are due next Friday, March 16.

Reminders:

  • We are now on Daylight Savings.
  • Parent/Teacher Conferences are scheduled for Thursday, March 15 , and Friday, March 16, from 12:30p.m. to 4:30p.m. .  I look forward to meeting with you.

May GREEN be the grass you walk on, may BLUE be the skies above you, may PURE be the joys that surround you, and may TRUE be the hearts that love you.  ~ An Old Irish Blessing

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! 🙂

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and have a grand week ahead.

Sincerely,

Miss Susan 🙂
