Beach Field Trip!

Dear Eighth Grade Parents and Students,

THANK YOU to Susan Bachand and to all the Middle School Mothers, who served a most DELICIOUS BREAKFAST to us, on Friday.  It was a real treat and a great way to start the day.  MANY, MANY THANKS! ❤

CONGRATULATIONS to all my Eighth Graders who participated and won the coveted ” Champions’ Trophy,” at our Field Day, on Friday.  Well done, Eighth Graders!  It was great to see you all working as a powerful team and having a lot of fun, too.  I am so proud of you! 🙂

There is great excitement in the air, as we approach the end of the year “Beach Field Trip.”  This field trip promises to be a fun and happy way to end this school year.  We are all looking forward to it! 🙂

The “Final Tests” will be given on Monday, June 12 through Wednesday, June 14.  Your teenager will be given a comprehensive guideline on Tuesday, June 6, to study for these tests.

This coming week in literature, my Eighth Graders will continue to read Lord of the Flies by William Golding.  They will focus on The Cornell Method of Note-Taking, and they will apply this method to the novels we have read in class, this past school year.  They will continue to watch The Odyssey, for Literature on DVD.

This week in Drama Class, my Eighth Graders will have rehearsals for A Midsummer Night’s Dream.  Please encourage your child to study his/her cues and lines.  We hope to have our dress rehearsal on Tuesday.  The performance is scheduled for Wednesday, June 14. I will keep you posted on the time, once it is confirmed.

Reminders:

  • Please study your cues and lines for A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
  • Please study the guidelines for the “Finals.”

Joy, feeling one’s own value, being appreciated and loved by others, feeling useful and capable of production are all factors of enormous value for the human soul, but especially, the child’s soul.  ~ Maria Montessori

Enjoy your weekend and have a grand week ahead.

Sincerely,

Miss Susan ❤
