Countdown to Summer!

Dear Sixth Grade Parents and Students,

BRAVO! BRAVO! BRAVO! A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS AGAIN to all our E.C.D.S. students who performed in The Wizard of Oz musical production, on Friday and Saturday, at the Roger Rowe Theater.  You all gave a SPECTACULAR and BRILLIANT PERFORMANCE during every show. WOW! MANY, MANY, MANY THANKS goes out to Ms. Regan, Ms. Deb’bora (Amazing Directors/Choreographers), Mrs. Nicky Crawford, Mr. Enrico, Mr. Jesse, (Incredible Music), Tiffany Pond (Stunning Costumes), Mr. Matthew Perdoni, and Susan and Albert Bachand/Morone (Superb Sets), Mr. Curt Barker (Wonderful Lights), Mr. Craig (Great Sound), Tenley Webb and Camilla Arnold ( Voice Coaches),  Choreographers and Dance Coaches (Mr. Anthony and Ms. Rachel), Matthew and Ally (Excellent Student Stage- Managers), Ellen Lakin (Curtains), Ms. Robyn Hayes (Great Stage Volunteer) and ALL the Dedicated Volunteer Moms (Tiffany, Patty D., Maya, Janet, Angela, Teresa, Ellen, Helen, etc…. I don’t know all the parents, as their children are in the younger grades) who applied the Stage Make-Up, and worked in the Green Room with our students throughout the shows.  It takes a village! BRAVO! BRAVO! BRAVO! All who work at E.C.D.S. are so proud of you! ❤ ❤ ❤

This coming week in literature, my Sixth Graders will continue  reading Tunes For Bears To Dance To, which they are enjoying.  They will finish editing their Children’s Books by Friday. They will  apply the S.I.F.T. Method of analysis to Skellig and Tunes For Bears To Dance To: S. (Symbolism), I. (Imagery), F. (Figurative Language), and T. (Themes and Tone).  They will review the “Six Traits of Writing,” and work in their mythological, grammar, and editing workbooks.  They will also start watching The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett, for Literature on DVD.


All my Wizard of Oz students are responsible for catching up with any homework and tests that are missing on Jupiter Grades.  Please come to my classroom during Project Study time.  Thank you!

The homework for this week is as follows:

  • Spelling/vocabulary test of Lesson 15, on Wednesday, May 24.
  • Complete all the exercises in Lesson 15 of Wordly Wise.
  • Please finish your Children’s Books.
