Celebrate “Spirit-Week-Style!”

Dear Sixth Grade Parents and Students,

THANK YOU to Laina Pond for helping with Literature Comes to Life, in the library this morning (Friday).  You did a GREAT JOB! 🙂

This coming week in literature, my Sixth Graders will continue to read about Henry in Tunes For Bears To Dance To by Robert Cormier.  They will finish their “Children’s Books,” too, several students have already finished writing their books.  In addition to this, they will work on their mythological, grammar, and punctuation workbooks, and will return to their study of cursive writing.  This past week, I read aloud The Tale of Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter, and my Sixth Graders loved it.  Next, I will read aloud The Tale of Jemima Puddle-Duck.  They will continue to watch Miss Potter, which they love, for Literature on DVD.

This week in Drama Class, my Sixth Graders will work on their skits with Mr. Rowe, for the Monthly Assembly.

This coming week ECDS will be celebrating “Spirit-Week-Style.”  Teachers, faculty, staff, and students will show their spirit by wearing clothes according to the theme for each day.  However, please follow uniform guidelines with respect to modest dress.

Monday: Farmers’ Market ~ Dress in floral or bright colors.

Tuesday: Hawaiian Theme ~ Wear Hawaiian shirts.

Wednesday: Around the World ~ Wear hats or clothes from around the world.

Thursday: Sports Day ~ Wear sports jerseys or baseball hats.

Friday: Mardi Gras ~ Wear the colors purple, green, and gold.
