Happy Thanksgiving!

Dear Sixth Grade Parents and Students,

THANK YOU SO MUCH for the gift of your children.  They are very sweet, precious, and entertaining!!!  They bring joy to my world every day. They are a credit to you and your parenting skills.  I truly love every one of them! πŸ™‚

THANK YOU to all our parents who attended the Parent/Teacher conferences last Thursday and Friday.  It was lovely to meet with you, and to discuss your child’s progress at ECDS. πŸ™‚

THANK YOU to all our parents who donated books to my classroom library.  My students are excited about them.  It was very thoughtful of you, and I truly appreciate your generosity.  Many thanks! πŸ™‚

This past week in literature, my Sixth Graders continued to read Greek Gods and Heroes by Robert Graves, which they continue to enjoy.  They also worked in their grammar workbooks, and they started to learn how to write a stage play. They are using their laptops for this work, and they appear to be enjoying it immensely.

This week will be a very short week…Monday through Wednesday.  There will be a field trip to The Gem Institute, in Carlsbad, on Monday.  Therefore, there will be no time for academics.  However, the field trip will be fun and educational.  On Tuesday, my Sixth Graders will work in their grammar and paragraph-editing workbooks. On Wednesday, my Sixth Graders will be busy serving the Thanksgiving Feast to the younger children at ECDS.  Then, they will participate in the feast, too.

There will be no homework during the Thanksgiving Break!  Relax!  Enjoy spending time with your children and your wonderful families. Happy Thanksgiving! πŸ™‚

As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.
