Parent/Teacher Conferences!

Dear Eighth Grade Parents and Students,

I hope that you all enjoyed your Veterans’ Day!  THANK YOU to our brave Veterans for your service to your/our country.  You are our heroes!

This past week in literature, my Eighth Graders continued to read Night by Elie Wiesel. In addition to this, they watched the video of Animal Farm, which they clearly enjoyed.  They finished their outlines of Animal Farm.  They also worked in their grammar workbooks.  In addition to this, I explained the Career Project to them, and assured them that they will enjoy thinking about their futures, and researching three careers of interest to them.  It was a short week, as we only had four days in school.

This coming week, my Eighth Graders will continue to read Night by Elie Wiesel.  They will also prepare for their next Literary Terms Test.  They will start their Career Project by learning how to write a résumé and a business letter in class.

This week, in Drama Class, I intend to finish the auditions for A Midsummer Night’s Dream by William Shakespeare. I hope to have the play fully cast by Friday, November 18.

Reminder: Parent/Teacher Conferences will take place on  Thursday afternoon, November 17,  and Friday afternoon, November 18.  I look forward to meeting with you! 🙂

The homework for this week is as follows:

  • Rewrites of Pride and Prejudice, Episode VI, due on Wednesday, November 16.
  • Reaction Paper to Animal Farm is due on Friday, November 18.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and have a grand week ahead.

Sincerely,

Miss Susan 🙂
