Happy Mothers’ Day!

Dear Sixth Grade Parents and Students,

THANK YOU SO MUCH for all the very thoughtful gifts and delicious breakfasts and lunches that you showered on us all for Teacher Appreciation Week.  The food was delicious!  I truly appreciate all that you did for us.  It was a wonderful week!  THANK YOU SO MUCH!

THANK YOU to all the parents who were involved in organizing and serving at “Night at the Mission,” especially, Jennifer Powell.  I heard that a LOVELY evening was had by all in the luscious gardens…great wine, great food, and great company.  A very special THANK YOU to all the members of the PTG, too.

Mothers’ Day is almost here.  I hope that all our MOTHERS will have a WONDERFUL day of being COMPLETELY PAMPERED.  You certainly deserve the BEST.  I wish you lots of LOVE, HAPPINESS, LAUGHTER, and SURPRISES!  HAPPY MOTHERS’ DAY!

The Sixth Graders settled back quickly into their work routine, after sharing their happy and funny experiences from Sixth Grade Camp.  I am happy to report that most of my Sixth Graders scored A+’s / A’s on their Literary Terms Test on Thursday.  Well done, Sixth Graders.  I am so proud of you.

This week in literature, we will continue to read Tunes For Bears To Dance To by Robert Cormier  As we wind down the school year, we will be working on finishing all the “in class” workbooks for the various literary skills.  Some students have finished several workbooks, while others are plodding along at their ease.

This week in history, we will prepare for the next History Test, which focuses on the history of Hinduism.  This past week, my Sixth Graders watched two short documentaries about Hinduism/Chapter 7 and Buddhism/Chapter 8.

The homework for this week is as follows:

  • Spelling/vocabulary test of Lesson 19 in Wordly Wise on Wednesday.
  • Complete all the exercises in Lesson 19 of Wordly Wise.
  • Write up the history definitions and questions/answers, for the next test.

“MOTHERS! Your arms are always open when your children need a hug. Your hearts understand when your children need a friend.  Your gentle eyes are stern when your children need a lesson.  Your strength and love guide your children and give them wings to fly. YOU ARE LOVED!  THANK YOU!”

Enjoy your weekend and have a GRAND week ahead!
