Welcome Back, Sixth Graders!

Dear Sixth Grade Parents and Students,

Welcome back to O.M.M.S., Sixth Graders!  Last week, you were greatly missed by all in Middle School.  It was wonderful to see your happy faces and receive your warm hugs on Friday.  I’ve heard from Miss Denise that you were FANTASTIC at Camp Marston!  All at O.M.M.S. are so proud of you!  You have grown and matured with this new experience, so you will return to school on  Monday with renewed self-confidence, independence, and maturity.  Yahoo!  I look forward to SHARE TIME with you!

This week in literature, we will return to Tunes For Bears To Dance To by Robert Cormier.  Then, we will study the second column of Literary Terms, in preparation for the Literary Terms Test on Thursday, May 5.  In addition to this, we will work on finishing the Note-Taking, Mythology, Analogies, and Grammar workbooks.

Our history study will take us to the development of Buddhism, both in our text book and on the Smart Board.

The homework for this week is as follows:

  • Study for the Literary Terms Test on Thursday, May 5.

The child is truly a miraculous being, and this should be felt deeply by the educator.   ~ Dr. Maria Montessori

Enjoy the rest of the weekend and have a GRAND week ahead.

Cheers,

Miss Susan
