Spirit Week!

Dear Eighth Grade Parents and Students,

CONGRATULATIONS to all our OMMS students who participated in the Variety Show on Wednesday evening, May 13.  SUCH WONDERFUL TALENT!  GREAT JOB!  THANK YOU to Mr. Tom Satterfield for hosting the event.  THANK YOU to my Eighth Graders: Gianna Acosta, E.J. McKinsey, and Ashley Young who were the M.C.’s.

This week in literature, we will continue to read Lord of the Flies by William Golding.  In addition to this, we will continue to work in the classroom workbooks, in the hope of finishing them by the end of the school year.  We will also review the Literary Terms, in preparation for the last test, which will be given on Wednesday, June 3.  This week, my Eighth Graders will finish writing The Constitution in their own words. The rewrites of their speeches are due on Thursday, May 21.

This week in history, they will finish reading Chapter 7, about the Industrial Revolution, as we ran out of time to finish it last week.

This week, my Eighth Graders will finish the last section of Family Life, which will address “The Meaning of Life.” Then, they will return to their “Religion” books for the rest of the school year.
