Welcome Back, Sixth Graders!

Dear Sixth Grade Parents and Students,

Welcome back to OMMS, dearest Sixth Graders! I know that you all had a WONDERFUL TIME at Camp Marston.  I look forward to your many stories and songs, on Monday.  You were definitely missed last week.

This week in literature, my Sixth Graders will continue to read Tunes For Bears To Dance To by Robert Cormier.  In addition to this, they will work in their cursive, grammar, and analogy workbooks.  They will also work in writing in their journals and with the computers.  They will return to the study of Literary Terms and to their Wordly Wise workbook, Lesson 16.  The spelling/vocabulary test will be given on Thursday, instead of Wednesday, in order to give my Sixth Graders an extra day to study.  The exercises in Lesson 16 and the CROSSWORD will be due on Thursday, too.  I discussed this with them before they went to camp. So, we have a very busy week ahead of us.

This week in history, my Sixth Graders will continue to read Chapter 9 of the history book, which focuses on India’s Empires and achievements.  We will also watch short documentaries about India’s people, geography, and culture.

Reminder:

There will an Open House on Wednesday, May 6, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.  If you know people who are interested in attending O.M.M.S., please encourage them to visit our school.  Many thanks!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and have a GRAND week ahead.

Cheers,

Miss Susan
