Open House, This Week!

Dear Seventh Grade Parents and Students,

This coming week in Literature, we will continue to read The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde.  In addition to this, we will rehearse for A Midsummer Night’s Dream by William Shakespeare, for their performance, on Monday, June 1.  The rehearsals are going well, but please remind your child to work on memorizing his/her cues and lines every night.  This practice will ensure that your child will enjoy his/her performance, and will get the most out of it. If anyone is available to tape the performance, please let me know as soon as possible.  Many thanks!

This coming week, my Seventh Graders will work in their new cursive books.  In addition to this, they will work in their comprehension and grammar workbooks.  They will also use the computers and write in their journals.

This week in history, my Seventh Graders will continue to learn about the history of Greece and Rome.  Last week, we covered the Mycenaeans, the Minoans, and the Dorians.  They also watched a BBC documentary about the last day in Pompeii. This week, they will continue to watch documentaries about the Greek and Roman world, which always brings the history to life.

Reminder:

There will be an Open House at OMMS, on Wednesday, May 6, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.  If you know any families who are interested in sending their children to OMMS. Please encourage them to attend our Open House.  Many thanks!

The following is the homework for this coming week:

  • Spelling test of Lesson 17 in Wordly Wise will resume on Thursday.
  • Complete all the exercises in Lesson 17 of Wordly Wise for Thursday.
  • Please study your cues and lines for A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, and have a GRAND week ahead.

Cheers,
