Science Inventions and Art Fair!

Dear Sixth Grade Parents and Students,

I apologize for the delay in getting my blog out to you this week, but I spent twenty-three hours working on the Yearbook, this past weekend…and it is not finished yet.  However, it is looking good so far.

A big THANK YOU to all our parents, grandparents, and friends who attended Maria Montessori/Shadow Day on Friday.  Your children truly love having you in the classroom with them.  Although forty minutes in each Middle School classroom is very short, and can only give you a glimpse into our daily routine; I hope that you enjoyed your visit.  I appreciate your attendance.  Many thanks!

This coming week in literature, I will finish reading The Tempest by William Shakespeare.  This week, we will return to the study of Literary Terms.  There will no Wordly Wise on Wednesday, as I want my students to study for the History Test, on Tuesday, March 31.  In addition to this, my Sixth Graders will work in their classroom workbooks and with the computers for journal work.

This week in history, the Sixth Graders will start to read Chapter 7 of their history book, which focuses on the spread of Hinduism.  As demonstrated on Maria Montessori/Shadow Day, we will use the Smart Board to bring the history lesson to life.

Reminders:

1. The Science Inventions and Art Fair will take place on Thursday, March 26, in the St. Francis Hall, at 6:00p.m.

2. Don’t forget to order the Yearbook 2015, in order to avoid disappointment.

The homework for this week is as follows:

  • Write up the history definitions in Chapter 6, into your history notebook.
  • Study for the History Test on Tuesday, March 31.

The child can develop fully by means of experiences in his environment. We call such experiences ‘work.”  ~ Maria Montessori

Enjoy your week.

Cheers,

Miss Susan
