P.T.G. Meeting on Thursday!

Dear Seventh Grade Parents and Students,

There will be a General P.T.G. meeting, on Thursday, February 26, in St. Francis Hal, at 6:30 p.m. I hope that you will attend.  Thank you!

This coming week, the Seventh Graders will continue our study of Walt Whitman’s poetry by reading “The Dalliance of Eagles.”  The next book has been ordered, the play, The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde, which is hilarious.  The Seventh Graders will have an opportunity to speak in haughty aristocratic English accents, as they act it out in class.  The Wordly Wise homework is cancelled for this coming week, as I want my students to study for the History Test on Wednesday, February 25.

Last week, the Seventh Graders watched the documentary  The Children’s March for “Black History” month, which  was about the children’s march in Birmingham, Alabama, during the 60’s.  Hopefully, they learned the importance of standing up for one’s rights, freedom, and equality.  This week, they will watch a documentary about slavery.  In addition to this, they will read Chapter 20, which focuses on “Roman Achievements.”  There will be a History Test on Wednesday, February 25.  I am afraid that outside school activities (and perhaps, iPhones) are interfering with my Seventh Graders’ diligence in attending to their homework.  Please encourage your child to study for the History Test.

Reminders:

1. The P.T.G. meeting is scheduled for Thursday, February 26, at 6:30 p.m.

2. Please order your Yearbook 2015, in order to avoid disappointment ($45).

The homework for this week is as follows:

  • History notes are due on Monday, February 23.
  • Study for History Test on Wednesday, February 25.

A loving heart is the truest wisdom.  ~ Charles Dickens

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and have a grand week ahead.

Cheers,

Miss Susan
