P.T.G. Meeting on Thursday!

Dear Sixth Grade Parents and Students,

There will be an General P.T.G. meeting on Thursday, February 26, in St. Francis Hall, at 6:30 p.m.  I hope that you will attend.  Thank you!

The Sixth Graders have been enjoyed the children’s story of the great Irish author, Oscar Wilde.  His stories are beautifully written, highly descriptive, very meaningful, and unusual, yet sweet. Their themes incorporate the joy of love, friendship, altruism, and intelligence. This coming week, I will read The Selfish Giant by Oscar Wilde.   In addition to this, the Sixth Graders will start the study of William Wordsworth poetry, as the guidelines for writing the “Stage Play” took up a lot of class time, last week.  They will also work in their classroom workbooks, and write in their journals and on the computers.  I am deferring Wordly Wise again, in order to give the Sixth Graders time to study for the next History Test, and work on their writing assignment, ” Write a Stage Play.”

This coming week, the Sixth Graders will  prepare for the History Test, on Thursday, February 26.  Then, they will continue “Black History” month by watching The Children’s March, a powerful documentary about the march in Birmingham, Alabama.  In addition to this, they will read about the history of India.  The focus will be the Indus Valley.  If time permits, they will watch documentaries about India on the Smart Board.

1. The P.T.G. meeting on Thursday, will be in St. Francis Hall, at 6:30 p.m.
