Catholic Schools’ Week!

Dear Seventh Grade Parents and Students,

We are asking all our families to join us on Sunday morning, January 25, at 10:00a.m., in the Serra Center, for our annual Mass celebration, in honor of Catholic Schools’ Week. We are very proud of our school, students, parents, principal/administrator, faculty, and staff.  This week at O.M.M.S., we will start our Catholic Schools’ Week with a school assembly on Monday, at 10:00a.m., in the Serra Center.  THANK YOU to all the P.T.G. parents for your planning, time, and help in making Sunday and this week a special celebration.

This coming week in literature, the Seventh Graders will discuss and analyze themes, characters, events, and symbols with respect to Inside the Walls of Troy by Clemence McLaren.  For Literature on DVD, they will start Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë.  In addition to this, they will return to learning how to write a screenplay, and work in their “in class” comprehension and grammar workbooks.

The “Magazine” project was due today, Friday, so to those students who were absent, please bring your magazine project with you on Monday, January 26.

This coming week in history, the Seventh Graders will finish reading the last section of Chapter 18, which focuses on the political impact of the Reformation in Europe.  In addition to this, we will turn to the Smart Board to research information about this time period.

Reminder: You will receive the “Report Cards” this coming week.  If you have any questions or concerns about them, please do not hesitate to contact me.

The homework for this week is as follows:

  • Spelling/vocabulary of Lesson 11 in Wordly Wise.
  • Complete all the exercises in Lesson 11 of Wordly Wise.
  • Write up the history definitions and questions/answers from Chapter 18, into your history notebook.

Memory is the mother of all wisdom.  ~ Aeschylus

Enjoy your weekend and have a grand week ahead.
