Christmas Is Coming!

Dear Seventh Grade Parents and Students,

This week in literature, the Seventh Graders will continue to read Inside the Walls of Troy by Clemence McLaren.  In addition to this, they will work on their various Language Arts workbooks.  I need more time to explain how to write a screenplay, so, I have given my Seventh Graders their next writing assignment, “Design a Magazine.”  This assignment will be easier for them, at the moment, while I finish the details and explanations of how to write a screenplay.  I have distributed the guidelines for the magazine, so I expect them to start work on it this week.

This week in history, the Seventh Graders will have a History Test of Chapter 16, on Thursday, which is the last History Test before our Christmas break. Please remind your child to study for this test.  Thank you.  In addition to this, the Seventh Graders will also finish reading Chapter 17 in their history books.

Reminders: Mass will be celebrated in the chapel on Monday, December 8.  It is the feast of the Immaculate Conception.  Please remind your child to wear his/her Mass uniform. Thank you.

The Sixth Graders will perform A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, on Monday, December 15, in St. Francis Hall, at 6:30p.m.  All are welcome to attend and support our wonderful Sixth Graders.

The homework for this coming week is as follows:

  • Write up your history notes and definitions, if you haven’t done so already.
  • Study for the History Test on Thursday, December 11.

Always in our presentation, we must give something which does not exceed the child’s power, and yet, at the same time, calls forth effort.

Enjoy your weekend and have a grand week ahead!

Cheers,

Miss Susan
