Mrs. Bush’s Mass on Friday!

Dear Eighth Grade Parents and Students,

THANK YOU to all the parents who attended our Parent/Teacher conferences last  Monday.  It was lovely to meet and chat with you about your children’s academic and social progress.  We had an great turnout.  Thank you!  We look forward to meeting with the rest of our parents on Friday afternoon, November 7, in Room 218.

Congratulations to all my wonderful Eighth Graders who did a great job in helping Mrs. Lindsey at the Harvest Hoe Down, on Friday.  I am so proud of you!

Last week in literature, we finished reading Animal Farm by George Orwell.  This week, we will discuss and analyze it.  In addition to this, the Eighth Graders will return to their study of “Literary Terms.”  They will have a Literary Terms test on Monday, November 17.

Last Friday, we continued to watch the DVD of Animal Farm.  We will continue to watch it in segments during the next two weeks.  The next writing assignment will be “What I Learned By Reading Animal Farm By George Orwell.” I have already distributed the guidelines for this assignment and we have discussed the expectations for it in class.  This paper is due on Friday, November 14.

This week in history, we will prepare for the History Test of Chapter 3, which will take place on Thursday, November 13.  Then, we will commence reading The Constitution of the United States.

This past week in religion, the Eighth Graders read about the Seventh and Eighth Commandments.  This week, they will read about the Ninth and Tenth Commandments in detail.

Reminders: There will be a special Mass on Friday, November 7, to honor and celebrate the life of our beloved and precious Mrs. Betty Bush.  It will take place in the chapel at 11:00A.M.  All are welcome to attend.

Our Eighth Grade class will be joining Miss Lida’s class to donate food for our designated family for Thanksgiving.  They will sign up for their donations on Monday.  Thank You!

Our School Dance will take place on Friday, November 14.  I will need chaperones to help with the security of our children.  If you can help, please contact me.  Thank you!
