Spirit Week!

Dear Sixth Grade Parents and Students,

I trust that you are all safe and sound from the fires, and that none of you had to be evacuated from your homes.  I hope that you enjoyed your wee break from school, and are ready to return to your work routine on Monday.  We still have much to accomplish before the end of the school year.

THANK YOU to all the parents who showered us with delicious goodies and gifts for Teacher Appreciation Week.  I am truly thankful to you for  your kind, thoughtful, and generous hearts.  We, teachers at O.M.M.S., are very lucky to have such great parents at our school!

This week in literature, the Sixth graders will continue a graphic analysis of The Tempest by William Shakespeare, regarding the themes, characterization, and plot of the play.  In addition to this, they will prepare for the Literary Terms Test (Part 1), which will be given on Thursday, May 22.   They will also continue to work in their analogies, grammar, and punctuation workbooks.

The History Test that was scheduled for last Thursday, is now rescheduled for Monday, May 19.  Please remind your Sixth Grader to study for this test.  Many thanks!  This week in history, we will watch short documentaries about China, in order to enhance our history study of the last two chapters, read in class.

Reminder:

Spirit Day will take place as planned on Friday, May 23.  All parents are welcome to attend this exciting and fun event.

The homework for this week is as follows:

  • Study for the History Test, on Monday, May 19.
  • Complete the next five pages of Keys to Good Language, for Wednesday.
  • Study for the Literary Terms Test, on Thursday, May 22.

Enjoy your weekend and have a grand week ahead.

Cheers,

Miss Susan
