Happy Mothers’ Day!

Dear Sixth Grade Parents and Students,

HAPPY MOTHERS’ DAY!  I wish all our mothers at O.M.M.S., a very happy and special day, full of love, fun, surprises, and lots of laughter.  You are all AMAZING MOTHERS!  Every day, but especially today, MOTHERS’ DAY, you deserve to be pampered and put up on a pedestal of happiness.  ENJOY!

A big THANK YOU to all the parents who were involved in hosting Night at the Mission.  It is a huge undertaking, and every year you do an INCREDIBLE JOB!

Last Monday, I was highly entertained by the Sixth Graders’ stories of their experiences at Sixth Grade Camp.  They also serenaded me with four camp songs.  What a treat!  They obviously had a GREAT TIME!  It is lovely to have them back at O.M.M.S.

This week in literature, I will finish reading the introduction to The Tempest.  In addition to this, we will continue to work in the classroom workbooks.  We will also review the Literary Terms, in preparation for the last two tests, which are scheduled for Thursday, May 22 (Part 1), and Thursday, May 29 (Part 2) respectively.

This week in history, the Sixth Graders will prepare for the History Test, on Thursday, May 15.  Please encourage your child to study for it.  Many Thanks!  We will also finish reading Chapter 10, “The Rise of Civilization in China.”

Reminder:

The Crowning of Mary will take place after Mass on Friday, May 16.  All are welcome to attend.

The homework for this week is as follows:

  • The next four pages in Keys To Good Language for Wednesday.
  • Study the definitions and questions/answers for the History Test on Thursday.
  • Some students still need to turn in the rewrites of their Stage Plays.

All that I am, or hope to be, I owe to my angel mother.   ~ Abraham Lincoln

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, and have a grand week ahead.

Cheers,

Miss Susan
