April Showers Bring May Flowers!

Dear Seventh Grade Parents and Students,

This week in literature, the Seventh Graders will continue to read, in their aristocratic accents, The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde.  In addition to this, they will work on finishing their projects,  “People of the Enlightenment.”  They will also write in their journals, and work in their grammar workbooks.

This week in history, the Seventh Graders will prepare for their next History Test, which will concentrate on the history of Japan. This week, I will distribute the questions and answers that they need to study for the test.  We will also watch videos on the Smart Board to enhance the study of Japan.

Alas! It is time to begin our Drama Class and rehearsals for A Midsummer Night’s Dream by William Shakespeare.  My Seventh Graders have been waiting for this experience since September.  Hence, we will have our first rehearsal on Friday, April 11.  I know that they will all have a blast, (me, too!)

The homework for this week is as follows:

  • Review spelling/vocabulary of Lesson 4 in Wordly Wise for Thursday.
  • Finish your project on “People of the Enlightenment.”
  • Write up the history definitions from Chapter 12, into your history notebooks.

Children are human beings to whom respect is due, superior to us by reason of their innocence, and of the greater possibilities of their future.                  ~ Maria Montessori

Enjoy your weekend and have a grand week ahead.

Cheers,

Miss Susan
