Thank You!

Dear Seventh Grade Parents and Students,

I trust that you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family and friends, and that you will enjoy what remains of this Thanksgiving weekend.  I wish  a safe trip home to all our families who will have to brave the heavy holiday traffic on Sunday.

THANK YOU to all the parents who donated food items to our Thanksgiving baskets. Many families had a delicious dinner this past holiday because of your generous hearts.

Last week, I only had the Seventh Graders on Monday and Tuesday.  They read Inside the Walls of Troy by Clemence Mc Laren with enthusiasm.  In addition to this, they wrote in their journals, and learned about a “SLUG LINE” for the writing of their screenplays.

This week, the Seventh Graders will continue to read Inside the Walls of Troy (Part 2), which is told from Cassandra’s point of view.   They will have a Literary Terms Test on Wednesday, December 11.  Please encourage your child to study for this test.

This week in history, the Seventh Graders will review their notes for the next History Test, which is scheduled for Wednesday, December 18.  They will also commence the reading of Chapter 18, which focuses on “The Reformation” in Europe.

The homework for this week is as follows:

  • Spelling /vocabulary of Lesson 12 in Wordly Wise.
  • Complete all the exercises of Lesson 12 in Wordly Wise
  • Screenplays are due on Thursday, December 5.
  • Write up the history notes, if you haven’t done so already.

Books are the bees that carry the quickening pollen from one to another mind.  ~ James Russell Lowell

Have a grand week ahead!

Cheers,

Miss Susan
