Happy Thanksgiving!

Dear Seventh Grade Parents and Students,

THANK YOU to all our parents who drove for the field trip to the Star Theater last Wednesday.  I truly appreciate your time and participation.  Our students thoroughly enjoyed the show.  Congratulations to Jenna and Lauren Bell, who gave GREAT performances!  Well done!  I am so proud of you!

This week in literature, we will continue to read Inside the Walls of Troy by Clemence McLaren.  This past week, the Seventh Graders told me that this book is their favorite book.  Yahoo!  I think that the romance and the conflict is exciting for them.  For literature on DVD, we finished watching Silas Marner by George Eliot, and started to watch To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, which is a very important story with incredible messages and important lessons for life.

This past week in history, we read about the Renaissance, however, because of the field trip on Wednesday, we didn’t finish the chapter as planned. Hence, this week, we will finish reading Chapter 17.

Reminder:  We divided the Seventh Graders into two groups of three students, and asked each group to donate to either the Sixth or the Eighth Graders’  Thanksgiving baskets.  Please send your donations on Monday or Tuesday.  Thank you!

There is no Wordly Wise homework for Thanksgiving week.  We will resume our homework routine after Thanksgiving.

As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.  ~ John F. Kennedy

Dear Parents, THANK YOU SO MUCH for the gift of your children every day.  They bring joy to my world, and they are a credit to you.  I truly love them!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!  ENJOY!  RELAX!  HAVE FUN!

Cheers,

Miss Susan
