Happy May Day!

Dear Seventh Grade Parents and Students,

I am happy to report that A Midsummer Night’s Dream by William Shakespeare has been fully cast, and all our players are happy with their parts.  We had our first rehearsal on Friday, and it went very well.  I hope to have time to rehearse at least twice a week for thirty minutes.  The play is scheduled for Monday, June 3, so please mark your calendars.  This week in literature, we will continue to read The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde.

The Seventh Graders scored extremely high on the Literary Terms Test last Wednesday.  Great job, Seventh Graders!  Keep up the great work!  I am so proud of you!  We will return to the Literary Terms list this week.

This past week in history, the Seventh Graders watched a movie on the Smart Board about China.  On Wednesday, May 1, there will be a History Test of Chapter 10, which covers the history of China.  Please encourage your child to study his/her history notes.  Many thanks!  This week in history, we will finish reading Chapter 12, which focuses on the history of Japan.

The homework for this week is as follows:

  • Two pages of cursive per night.
  • Study for the History Test on Wednesday, May 1.
  • Study for the spelling/vocabulary review test of Lessons 9 and 10 in Wordly Wise.
  • Study your lines for A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and have a GRAND week ahead.

Cheers,

Miss Susan
