Dear Seventh Grade Parents and Students,

THANK YOU to all the parents who drove and chaperoned on our field trip to the Vista Court House, last Thursday.  Congratulations to all the Seventh Graders for your EXCELLENT participation.  It was a GREAT mock trial.  I am so very proud of you!

This past week, the Seventh Graders commenced the reading of The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde, and they are thoroughly enjoying it.  Some of the haughty English accents are HILARIOUS!  The girls want to wear tiaras and gloves while reading it, so I have given them permission.  The boys have permission to wear gloves or cravats.  The Magazine Project is due on Thursday, March 28.  I expect to be dazzled!

80% of the class scored extremely high on the Literary Terms Test on Friday.  Well done!  Some students are not giving enough time to their studies.  Please check with your child regarding his/her studies, as it is too early in the school year to slack off.  We have two more months of a packed curriculum to study.  Many thanks!

Again, 80% of the Seventh Graders scored extremely high on the History Test last Monday.  I am very proud of them!  This week in history, we will prepare for the next History Test, as we have already read Chapter 9, which focused on the Aztec Empire.

  1. The Stations of the Cross will be conducted on Thursday by the Eighth Graders, in the gardens behind the Mission’s cemetery.  You are welcome to join your child.
  2. The Passion will be reenacted by the Eighth Graders on Good Friday, at noon, in the Serra Center.  All are welcome.
  3. The deadline for the love notes, business cards, or sponsorship in our yearbook is Wednesday, March 27.

The homework for this week is as follows:

  • Spelling/vocabulary Review Test of Lessons 3 and 4 in Wordly Wise on Thursday.
  • The deadline for the “Magazine” project is Thursday, March 28.
  • Some students still need to turn in the rewrites of their Screenplays.

There is no homework for the Easter Break!  YAHOO!

I wish you all a GRAND week ahead and a VERY HAPPY EASTER BREAK!
