HAPPY PRESIDENTS’ DAY!

Dear Seventh Grade Parents and Students,

THANK YOU all for the numerous gifts of lovely cards, delicious chocolates, sweet-smelling roses, luscious lotion, and beautiful stationary that you gave to me for St. Valentine’s Day.  You made me feel very much loved and special.  THANK YOU!  I hope that you all had a wonderful day, too.

This past week, I discovered that my O.M.M.S. e-mail is not working.  I believe that a new e-mail has already been set up for the teachers through our website, but there are a few gliches that need to be ironed out, yet.  I will have a new e-mail address for you next week.  I apologize for any inconvenience.

This week in literature, we will use the Smart Board to examine the truth about The Trojan War.  We will also continue with our study of the poet, Alfred Lord Tennyson.  I have cancelled the Wordly  Wise homework for this coming week, as we are only in school for three days.  This will give the Seventh Graders time to do the rewrites of their screenplays, which are past due.  On Tuesday, I will distribute and discuss the guidelines for the next writing assignment, “Design and Write a Magazine.”

There is a History Test of Chapter 7 on Tuesday.  Please encourage your child to study his/her notes.  Many thanks!  This week, we will start the reading of Chapter 8 of the history book, which focuses on the Inca Empire.

Reminder: There is no school on Friday, February 22.

The homework for this week is as follows:

  • Study for the History Test of Chapter 7 on Tuesday, February 19.
  • Turn in the rewrites of the “Screenplays” this week.
  • Study spelling/vocabulary words of Lesson 19 in Wordly Wise for February 28.
  • Write up fifteen sentences using the vocabulary words from Lesson 19 of Wordly Wise.
  • Complete all the exercises in Lesson 19 of Wordly Wise for February 28.

until the hour of separation. ~ Kahlil Gibran

Enjoy your weekend and have a GRAND week ahead.

Sincerely,

Miss Susan
