Dear Seventh Grade Parents,

THANK YOU to all our parents who attended Mass last Sunday for Catholic Schools’ Week.  It was lovely to see our O.M.M.S. students serving.  They looked like angels in their white garb.  Our choir sang and sounded like angels.  Thus, the whole Mass was a wonderful experience.  A special THANK YOU to Paul Friedman who made a fantastic performance montage for our website.  We ended Catholic Schools’ Week with a formal opening of our library, which we dedicated to our beloved librarian, Mrs. Betty Bush.  Stop by and see our lovely new library.

THANK YOU to the Acosta family, the Fidellow/Mckinsey family, the Friedman/McGowan family, and the Rudick family for the gift of the “magic pen” that works between the iPad and the Smart Board.  Yahoo!  We will venture to use it this week.

THANK YOU to all the parents who attended the Graduation meeting last Wednesday evening.  I truly appreciate your interest and desire to help with our Graduation.

This week, we will finish Inside the Walls of Troy by Clemence Mc Laren.  We will also continue our study of Alfred Lord Tennyson’s poem “The Charge of the Light Brigade.”

There is a History Test of Chapter 6, on Wednesday, February 6.  Please encourage your child to study for it every night, for at least thirty minutes.  Many thanks!  We have already started the reading of Chapter 7 of the history book, which focuses on the Maya Civilization, and we will finish the chapter this week during our history studies.

Reminder: The Variety Show is in the Serra Center on Thursday, February 7, at 6:30p.m.  See you there for a night of entertainment.

  • Study for the History Test of Chapter 6, on Wednesday, February 6.
  • Spelling/vocabulary test of Lesson 16 in Wordly Wise on Thursday.
  • Write fifteen sentences using the vocabulary words from Lesson 16.
  • Complete all the exercises in Lesson 16 of Wordly Wise.
  • Do the CROSSWORD at the end of Lesson 16 in Wordly Wise.
  • Some students have to turn in the rewrites of their screenplays on Thursday.

At the touch of love, everyone becomes a poet. ~ Plato

Have a GRAND week ahead.
