Dear Seventh Grade Parents,

MANY THANKS once again for my new “best friend”….my iPAD.  It is a fascinating tool!  I am enjoying the exploration of its many avenues regarding educational and plain fun “APPS.”  I truly appreciate your generosity.

This coming week, we continue to read Inside the Walls of Troy by Clarence McLaren.  We are finished with our Wordly Wise homework until after Christmas, as I want my students to put their creative energy into the writing of their screenplay, which is due on December 20.  My Seventh Graders need a break from tests at this jolly season of the school year.  The screenplays require a lot of time and work in order to achieve a high grade.  Please remind your child to work on his/her screenplay every night.  Thank you!

We will finish the classroom Punctuation Book and the Comprehension Book before Christmas, but the Grammar Book will take us into a few months of 2013.

The Seventh Graders scored extremely high on their History Test of Chapter 4, last Wednesday.  Well done!  I am so proud of them!  This week, we will start Chapter 5 of the history book, which focuses on The Rise of West African Empires.

The Following is the homework for this coming week:

  • Work on the screenplay which is due on December 20.
  • Some students still need to turn in their drawings for their legends, poetry, etc.
  • Write the definitions in Chapter 5 of the history book, into the history notebooks.

Reminder:  Some Seventh Graders are performing in the Sixth Grade play A Christmas Carol on Monday evening, December 10.  Please have your child at The McKeon Center between 6:00p.m. and 6:15p.m.  They are permitted to wear make-up, if they choose.  Thanks!  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me during school hours.

It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge.  ~ Albert Einstein

Have a GRAND week ahead!

Sincerely,

Miss Susan
